HOME DEFENSE 1.0 

In this special situational training, course instructors introduce techniques and then apply them to simulated situations and force on force training.

 

Instructors will cover practical employment of several weapons systems, pistol/ rifle/ shotgun and will cover the pros and cons of each platform. Additionally, defensive techniques will be covered to increase the probability of survival in the event of an invasion and most importantly increased CQB combat shooting skills.

Airsoft replica weapons will be used to create a very real but non-lethal environment. A perfect course for the entire family, this course is not weapons specific. Rental weapons are available.

INTRODUCTION TO FIREARMS

VUCA Tactical with Active Shooter Defense School introduces a new training course for those interested in learning about all firearms including pistols, shotguns, and rifles. Through airsoft replieca guns students can be introduced to guns in a safe non-lethal environment. 

 

Familiarity with all types of firearms is a must for any beginner so that they become more comfortable and proficient with firearms. This class is a perfect course to introduce beginers who are aprehensive but still interested in learning basic functions and safe handling techniques.

 

First and foremost, this introduction class will cover safety for owning and handling all three types of firearms.  It will also cover basic manipulation of these firearms, loading and unloading, and basic familiarization and use of pistol, shotguns, and rifles.

 

After this course, participants will be comfortable using and manipulating these firearms. This course is a great prerequisite for begnining shooters who are interested in persuing further firearms training.

LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRST RESPONDER TACTICAL CASUALTY CARE COURSE

(LEFR-TCC)

The course combines the principles of PHTLS and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), with the training provided to military medics by all branches of our Armed Services. It is consistent with the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) guidelines and meets the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus Document on Improving Survival from Active Shooter Events.VUCA Tactical with Active Shooter Defense School introduces a new training course for those interested in learning about all firearms including pistols, shotguns, and rifles. COURSE DESCRIPTION


The course combines the principles of PHTLS and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), with the training provided to military medics by all branches of our Armed Services. It is consistent with the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Law Enforcement and First Response Tactical Casualty Care (LEFR-TCC), is continuing education offered through NAEMT’s PHTLS program.

 

This new course was developed in collaboration with the Denver Health Department of EMS Education and the Denver Police Department Metro/SWAT unit, and NAEMT’s PreHospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Committee. It teaches public safety first responders (police, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders) the basic medical care interventions that will help save an injured responder's life until EMS practitioners can safely enter a tactical scene, guidelines, and meets the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus Document on Improving Survival from Active Shooter Events.

 

Course participants will learn life-saving medical actions such as bleeding control with a tourniquet, bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents, and opening an airway to allow a casualty to breathe. 

 

Upon completion of the course participants will:
 

Understand the rationale for immediate steps for hemorrhage control (including external hemorrhage control, direct pressure and wound packing, early use of tourniquet for severe hemorrhage, internal hemorrhage control by rapid evacuation, and transportation to major hospital/trauma center. Demonstrate the appropriate application of a tourniquet to the arm and leg. Describe the progressive strategy for controlling hemorrhage. Describe appropriate airway control techniques and devices. Demonstrate the correct application of a topical hemostatic dressing (combat gauze). Recognize the tactically relevant indicators of shock.
